The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills - Episode Two Recap

Episode two starts off with Kyle and Adrienne are shopping for a birthday present for Portia.  Inevitably, the subject of Adrienne/Lisa relations (or lack thereof) is brought up.  Adrienne would like to sit down, discuss it and move on.  She is more than willing to apologize to Lisa, but doesn't feel that Lisa would apologize to her.  Kyle tells her that if she is waiting for that to happy, she shouldn't hold her breath.  Adrienne feels that Lisa is being immature about the whole thing, and she doesn't want to waste any more time dealing with this nonsense.  Adrienne is resigned that it will need to be her, not Lisa, making the first move towards resolution.

Taylor throws a dinner party, inviting Kyle, Adrienne and their families.  Everyone agrees that Taylor looks better, having put some of the weight back on.  She seems happier.   During dinner, Taylor asks a favor of Mauricio and Paul.  She'd like them to  participate in the "Walk a Mile" fundraiser for domestic violence.  (This is a fundraiser where men, literally, walk a mile in high heels to raise money for a specific cause or charity.)  Kyle and Adrienne think it's a great idea - except it's the same day as Portia's birthday party.  And it's in Sacramento.  Kyle agrees to move the time of the party a few hours so that both things can be done.  Mauricio is confident that he could walk the mile in 15 minutes - Kyle tells him "good luck getting from here to the door!  Seemingly the next day, Adrienne takes Paul to a shoes store advertised with the "highest heel in town" - a place Maya shoes.  They start pulling heels out and it's hilarious! Paul was a very good sport, and seemed partial to a pair of clear heels with pink feathers!!  Then they showed him a pair of silver platform moon boots and he REALLY liked those.  They ended up taking the silver platform boots and a pair of "Dorothy" inspired ruby slippers.

Yolanda has her driver drops her off at Guess while her daughter is getting made up for a photo shoot.  Gigi is 17, very pretty, and been modeling since she was 3.  Yolanda says during her interview portion that she doesn't want to be a "stage mom" because it's "unattractive" - but then we see her following the stage mom handbook.  Hovering over her daughter, analyzing what she is wearing, pulling the make-up artist aside to "round" Gigi's eyes so she doesn't look "Chinese".  Yikes!   Yolanda says that she has been where Gigi is going (Paris, Milan, all of the big fashion houses - and we are shown lots of stills from her modeling years) and she feels that her advice is valid.  She even hovers over the photographers shoulder the entire time, asking him to see the digital images on the screen when he is finished with the shoot and telling him which ones she likes.

Early on Sunday morning, we see Taylor, Adrienne, and Mauricio get on a private plane to go to Sacramento for the Walk a Mile event.  Of course, they ended up talking about the Villa Blanca event and how the Adrienne and Paul weren't invited.  In the meantime, Kyle is home with Portia getting ready for the birthday party.  She is Kyle really proud that Mauricio is being supportive of Taylor, but she hopes that he makes it home for Portia's party.  Lisa and Ken arrive ahead of everyone because they have to leave early for an event at Villa Blanca.  Supposedly.   Kyle is concerned that Lisa is leaving before Adrienne gets there.  Two minutes later, Lisa is walking a llama through Kyle's house.  Yes I said a llama.  Kyle brought animals in for a petting zoo, and Lisa fell in love with the llama.  Instead of walking it around the house, she decided to bring it THROUGH the house to the backyard.  Kyle was less than entertained, but she went with it.  After the llama was secure in it's pen, Kyle took a moment to talk to Lisa about the situation with Adrienne and how she was hoping that the party would be a neutral location for the two of them to talk.    She would like to get Lisa and Adrienne together for dinner and see if they can patch things up.  Lisa is very uninterested in hashing it out, and asks Kyle when she needs to get involved with it.   Lisa feels that it's between her and Adrienne and she'd appreciate it if Kyle would stay out of it.   I completely agree with Lisa on this one!

In Sacramento, there are tons of guys in heels for this event!!  Mauricio gets shoes from the hosts of the event and he is struggling because they are too small.  Paul decides that he want to wear one of each - the red "Dorothy" looking ones and then silver moon boots.  He looks hilarious and Adrienne is cracking up!  Poor Mauricio is so miserable because his shoes are tight and his feet are killing him already.  He feels that Paul had an unfair advantage with the moon boots.  They make it to the finish line and Mauricio couldn't get those shoes off fast enough!

Back at the birthday party, Kyle's backyard has been converted in to a giant carnival complete with a petting zoo, jump houses, rides, face painting, and games.  Brandi is the first one of the ladies to arrive and is very nervous without Lisa there to have her back.  She is very upfront with Kyle about how she feels and let's her know that she's going to leave.  Kyle assures it everything will be fine.  Camille and DeDe arrive, and the topics of Lisa/Adrienne comes up.  Camille says she doesn't understand why they can't pull it together after all the group has been through.  Look at Kyle and Camille!  Dana makes an appearance (and is described as "Taylor's friend" - OUCH!)  Yolanda can't make it but sends her driver or security guy with a HUGE teddy bear.  Faye is there too.   Brandi sees Dana and again goes to Kyle and tells her that she is going to go.  She feels a child's party is not the place to deal with any issues (I happen to agree).  Kyle once again encourages her to stay - she wants everyone to get along.

Mauricio finally makes it home for the party with Taylor close behind him.  Taylor started talking to Camille instead of Brandi (she's still upset with her from the reunion).   For the third time in a pretty short window, Brandi wants to go and Kyle and Camille encourage her again to stay. Kim made an effort to be there, and she, Camille, DeDe and Dana caught up.  Brandi finally just sent Kyle and Camille a text and left.  I know that Kyle was bummed out because she wants everyone to get things out and the open and move on.  But I say "Kudos!" to Brandi for seeing the potential for an uncomfortable situation and not wanting to ruin Portia's birthday party.  I would never want one of my friends to stay some where that they were uncomfortable.  Adrienne and Paul finally arrive.  Taylor and Kim start gossiping about Brandi, and the comment that Brandi made about "sleeping with every guy in Beverly Hills" to Yolanda gets repeated and repeated and repeated.  Completely out of context from how it was originally said, by the way.  Taylor is spreading gossip, and I am glad that Kyle walked away from it.  Adrienne was disappointed that Lisa left before they arrived.  She feels it's very childish and high school to keep continuing with this disagreement.  I hope this gets resolved soon because it's only episode two and I'm tired of hearing about it.

NEXT WEEK (Ok, really tonight):  Yolanda invites the ladies over to her house for dinner, Taylor gets on the bad side of the Foster's, and Adrienne and Lisa have a sit down.
