This episode was entitled "Hot Tub of Sour Grapes" and it was a perfect description!

We pick up from last week's episode at dinner, after the toast snub heard 'round the world (or at least Sonoma!) To ease the tension, Joe Gorga suggests that everyone should get in the hot tub and pool. It seems like an ok idea, and the group follows him outside. The Gorga's and the Giudice's are hanging out int he hot tub, when Kathy comes outside and makes a crack at Teresa for not including her in the toast. The three couples managed to hang out harmoniously for a little while, but then Kathy brought up the toast again because she was hurt. Some how Caroline gets brought up between Kathy and Teresa - and they are within ear shot of the Manzo's who are sitting on the patio - and Kathy is once again trying to play peacemaker between Teresa and some one else. Teresa feels like she didn't do anything, and Kathy is trying to get her to understand why Caroline is upset. Then Dina gets brought up, and Albie looks at his mother and asks her if she's going to jump in. Caroline wants to but she resisted the urge - for now. Kathy was trying to present another side of the situation, and Teresa didn't get it.
(If I had a dollar for every time I have typed THAT sentence this season . . . . . ok, moving on). Caroline is fuming, sitting on the couch with Jacqueline and Melissa. Teresa says she wants to move forward with Caroline. The guys are sitting at the table together wondering why they all can't get along. Teresa went in to change, and Caroline thanked Kathy for trying and told her that she didn't need to do that. Caroline doesn't want Teresa being able to blame her for the Gorga-Guidice-Wakile's being estranged. Caroline has no interest in having any kind of relationship with Teresa because she sees very clearly who she is - an "ugly human being". It bothers her that Teresa can go hurt people, lie about it, and then be fake about it on the back end. Melissa (wisely) stayed silent - she felt like Caroline should drop it and move on.

Once Teresa came back outside, Jacqueline told her that they couldn't help but over hear. Teresa asked if Caroline felt any differently, and she couldn't even look at her. Teresa said it's sad and she doesn't know what else to do - she'd like them to be friends again. Caroline says she will have a conversation with someone who tells the truth and is genuine. Caroline begs her to stop talking because she feels it's all fake what comes out of her mouth. There was an article that Teresa said Caroline put out - which Caroline denied. Kathy said even if someone paid her to say negative things about the other women she wouldn't do it. Caroline says that Teresa made a seven cover deal with a tabloid magazine, which Teresa flatly denied. Teresa said she was offered to put the truth out - Caroline asks her why doesn't she do that when they bash her family. She said she did - and Caroline called her a liar and expressed that this is why she wants nothing to do with her. Meanwhile, the men are inside and Joe Giudice says "they write the bullshit and we make the money". Chris asked him flat out if they get paid and he said yes (granted it did seem like the dialogue was edited and we didn't see his face when he said it). We hear him say "The only magazine we deal with is f***ing
In Touch, that's it". Chris tells him that's what the women are talking about it. Joe Giudice tells him that he can't help it if his wife is so popular and if they offered his wife money, she would do it. Chris tells him that they went to Jacqueline a few weeks ago and offered her $50,000 for a story about Teresa and she wouldn't do it. Chris just wants to be respected, and calls Joe Giudice on the gossip he's heard. Apparently, Chris heard that Joe was saying things to discredit him as a businessman - specifically calling him "shady". Joe was like "whatever", but Chris was insistent that it shouldn't happen again. Joe Gorga kept his mouth shut. Joe Giudice and Chris, literally, kissed and made up. How to you spell awkward again . . . . . .

Caroline wanted Teresa to admit that she continues to insult her and she meant to do it in the cookbook. Teresa insists that she has done nothing wrong and refuses to acknowledge it. Caroline said Teresa should have had the courtesy to call her about the book. Caroline says she bullies Jacqueline, who is "sleeping" next to Caroline. Melissa, still, is sitting quietly. Caroline then called Teresa out on the things that she said about Joe and Melissa and Kathy - which Teresa denied. She keeps insisting that Teresa should tell her truth, and she calls her a disgrace. Melissa looks like she wants to crawl under the table. Caroline said that hanging out with Kathy and Melissa was the biggest blessing for her because all of the things that didn't make sense became clearer. Teresa said for her to say things like that make her sick to her stomach. And then Teresa makes a shitty comment at Kathy about bringing all of this up.

Teresa feels like she is getting beaten up, and Caroline says "yep, she's always the victim". Melissa says she doesn't understand how Jacqueline could sleep through all of it, and Teresa says that she's just pretending to sleep because "she's learned her lesson". Huh??? Teresa says she's had enough and gets up - as Caroline responds "and she runs". Which drags Teresa right back. Teresa drags Joe Giudice in to the whole thing and his mouth starts running. The next thing you know, Joe is yelling, Christopher pipes up and Albert steps in that Teresa's comment wasn't funny. Caroline says Joe Giudice is drunk and she is concerned that at some point Albert is going to blow. Christopher and Albert got Joe to stop talking about it and to agree to let the girls deal with it. Lauren then jumps on Teresa about the 1/16th Italian comment and that she pulled it out of her ass. Teresa still insists that it was funny - it's not. Lauren felt like no one was defending Caroline, so she was going to do it. Teresa gets cornered and starts yelling and swearing on her kids that she could prove it that she never sold a negative story about Caroline. And then she grabs Kathy's face to get her to look at her! Kathy got pissed and told her to not put her hands on her. Teresa didn't like being told not to touch her. Kathy pulls up an article online and reads exactly what was printed. Teresa says she was talking about Richie and it hurt her feelings because he made a dig at her about going to the mall. Kathy says that Teresa knew he was joking and Caroline jumps on that immediately. It's ok for her to joke, but when someone else does it at Teresa's expense, all hell breaks loose. Caroline says Teresa doesn't give two sh*ts about anyone else. Melissa finally pipes up and says nobody wants to gang up on her. Joe Giudice goes to get Teresa, telling her that he changed their flights and they need to leave. Melissa looks at Kathy and said "How did this happen? Why did you two start talking?". Melissa feels that they came so far and it's a shame that the trip ended on such a bad note.

Teresa comes out of her room crying saying that she never, ever wrote anything bad about Caroline. Caroline kept saying that's it's over. Then Teresa feels the need to call her a c-word on the way out of the room, and not classy!! Caroline says "if you hang around garbage, you start to stink". She doesn't want it anymore. She's spent too many years listening to stories about Melissa and Kathy and then when she met them, she liked them and that drove Teresa insane. Melissa asked her what she was told, and Caroline refused to say. She has never heard one kind word out of Teresa's mouth about Melissa. She doesn't want to cloud what Melissa needs to do with Teresa for her family. She tells Kathy and Melissa that if it becomes an issue with them remaining friends with her to please let her know and she will remove herself. She doesn't want to get in the middle of someone else's family. Teresa (behind closed doors), starts calling Caroline names like "stupid bitch", and old. Joe Gorga comes over to get Melissa and they leave the room. He feels that they should change their flights and go home with Teresa and Joe. Right or wrong, Joe feels that he should back up his sister. Kathy comes in to their room and to tell her that her intention of talking to her was not to create a war, but Teresa is still focused on Kathy telling her to keep her hands off of her. Melissa is packing, Teresa is getting dressed, and Kathy is still trying to be the peace maker. Teresa says she missed the kids so much and wants to get home. Kathy keeps trying and Teresa is like whatever. Melissa feels that everyone is a good person, and she hates to see it happening. Caroline went back to her room and cried because she was so emotionally and physically exhausted by the whole evening. As the Giudice's and the Gorga's head out the door, Melissa reminds them that they better remember that they had their back and left with them.

I love hot tubs. My friend has one and we head over there at the weekend when we can. They're so relaxing!
