RHONJ Season Four Premiere Recap & Welcome

After a long seven months, "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" Season Four premiered last night and all I can say is BUCKLE UP BABY because it's going to be a bumpy ride!!

Before I start the recap, I want to note a few housekeeping items first.  For those of you who are new to MeMyselfAndJen and our Real Housewives of (insert city here) recaps, WELCOME!!! (insert confetti throwing here!)  I'm so glad that you chose to join us!  I will usually get a full recap of the week's episode (including pictures) written and posted within a day of the episode airing.  I always try to remain positive, constructive and objective as possible in my recaps, but I DO share my opinions on the situations that are shown in each episode. I encourage anyone that would like to leave comments or questions regarding the episodes or my recaps to remain the same - positive and constructive.  However, I do not post comments left from "Anonymous".  Sign your name please and let's keep it clean people so we can all enjoy it!!!!

I want to give a shout out to NotSoSoccerMomRadio.Com and Bloom.Com for hosting a super fun twitter party during the premiere last night (#NSSMBLOOM).  It was great to engage with all of the #RHONJ fans and talk together about what we were watching and what's ahead this season.  If you haven't checked out the fabulous Momcasters of the NotSoSoccerMomRadio Network, you can listen to them on LIVE365 by downloading the free app on your mobile device or going to notsosoccermomradio.com and clicking on the LIVE365 link there.  New shows premiere Monday through Friday at 1pmEST/12pmCST and then run every hour on the hour for the rest of the day.  There is always something exciting going on at Not So Soccer Mom Radio - check it out!!!

Lastly, just a heads up that this week's recap will be an abbreviated one with our favorite highlights from the premiere.  Full, in-depth recaps will begin next week.  Let me know if you have any questions or comments and I look forward to enjoying a great season of watching our favorite Jersey girls on "The Real Housewives of New Jersey"!

This season of "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" was filmed immediately following Season Three (which is not something that Bravo normally does).  It was still in process as the S3 reunion was taped and aired.  Which means that we are watching things that happened LAST SUMMER!  Just keep it in mind as you watch - a lot of time has passed since this was all filmed and I am sure it is incredibly difficult to have to rehash things that have happened so long ago.

Here are a few of the memorable lines of the of the night (and there were a TON!):

Joe Gorga:

"There's gonna be a lot of Gorg-asms happening!"

Melissa:

"Look Gino, it's to play with a kitty cat"

Kathy:

"Gotta have leopard.  Wouldn't be Jersey if you didn't."

Rosie:

"If anybody I love and care about is attacked, I'm going in to friggin protect mode and I will rip your heart out and eat it!"

Caroline Manzo:

"Just admit it and tell me you did it".

"Is there moron stamped on my head?"

Teresa:

"Down on the shore the sun's not so good for you, with the ozone layer and everything."

Other interesting tidbits:

  • Can someone please clarify the Jew-Dice versus Jew-De-Chay pronunciation for me please??  I heard it pronounced several different ways in this episode alone!  Am I the only one that has ONE pronunciation for their last name??
  • I was saddened to watch the pain in Jacqueline about Ashley.  Its extremely difficult to watch your child fall down and fail and feel helpless.
  • I was really shocked and saddened at how the Guidice children spoke to each other and their parents, and what conversations they were present for or involved in.
  • I was shocked at how negative Jacqueline's life coach was towards her and how snotty he spoke to her.
  • I found it interesting that none of the smaller Guidice children looked like they were properly restrained in the back seat of the car.  I'm not sure what the law is in NJ, but in IL children younger than 8 AND 80 pounds are required to be in a booster seat.
  • Toms River looked really fabulous!!
  • Melissa's body is INSANE for having a little baby!!!
  • Jacqueline has the most amazing hair!!!!  Where is her line of hair care products??

Until next week . . . . .
