The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills - Season Finale

Please note:  This post also appears on "The Real Housewives Daily Dose" (@RHDailyDose) as my last guest blog for them.  The text is the same, but they reserve the right of photo selection on their site so the published pieces may not appear identical.

Since Jason announced at dinner that Pandora accepted his proposal earlier this season, we have been privy to snippets of the planning and preparation of the “Vander-Fabulous” wedding featured in the season finale of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills”.  Fabulous indeed!!!  The beautiful white billowy, air-conditioned tents that covered the tennis courts were only a small part of the overall design that turned “VanderPump Manor” into a five-star venue for this amazing event.  Inside the tent, the ceiling was dripping with crystals and white flowers, silver chandeliers woven with blush pink and white roses hung with hundreds of candles in them.  There were THOUSANDS of blush pink and white roses, wrapped in pink ribbon and bling, with white candles in crystal holders of every size and shape you can imagine.  Delicate silver arches wrapped in green foliage and roses were also scattered around the room.

Outside the tent, there were fresh flowers as far as the eye could see and the grounds were perfectly sculptured and manicured.   No detail was overlooked, down to the custom wine labels for all of the 120 bottles served that day – in pink!  The cake was gigantic – five layers of ivory colored fondant and trim accented with fresh roses (in an almost fuchsia shade of pink) which covered the top layer and then cascaded down one entire side and spilled on to the table.  It was a scene set for a Prince and Princess!

In the several hours before the wedding, we see Lisa nervous and fretting about everything – as any mother of the bride who was planning and paying for an event of this scale would be.  It’s the first time we’ve seen Lisa with her hair not perfect this season – but she still looks amazing and real.  She made all of the flower arrangements for the inside of the house herself (is there anything this woman can’t do?)  Once the bridal party started to get ready, the identical triplets (Korrie, Kelsey and Kaeli) arrived to do hair and make-up.  Lisa has her hair in curlers, and still managed to coordinate everything with grace and ease despite being stressed out.  She even got her son, Max, to cut off his faux-hawk prior to the ceremony (“It looks like a squirrel!”).  Once dressed, Lisa looks amazing!  Her gown is spectacular – strapless pink satin with diamonds encrusting one side of the bust and the waistline.  Add huge chandelier diamond earrings and a tiara and you have a glamorous mother of the bride that looks like royalty!  Lisa and Pandora talked about the tiara (Lisa felt it was too much), but Pandora insisted that she wear it – which is why she bought it for her!  Lisa’s response was  “Hey if she wanted me to wear my knickers on my head I’d wear it – it wouldn’t be the first time!”  Ken (and Giggy) both look very regal in their tuxes.

Enter the bride . . . Pandora walked down the stairs to her parents and you can literally feel Lisa hold her breath.   Pandora looked every bit of the fairytale princess!  Her hair was down in soft curls and she wore a beautiful lace trimmed veil, along with the spectacular strapless dress that we saw earlier in the season (plus more bling and hand-made roses that she and Lisa sewed on).  “I just want you to be happy, the rest will follow”, Lisa said to her.  “If Jason loves you half as much as I do, you’re a lucky girl”.   What a wonderful relationship the two of them have!  You can see Lisa holding in the tears as she looked at her daughter with amazement and pride.

After a cocktail hour around the pool, the ceremony was held in a separate area of the “backyard” at dark.  A huge gazebo was decorated with more roses and candles for the bride and groom, with satin covered chairs on either side of the aisle for guests.  Jason looked thrilled and excited when he saw Pandora walking down the aisle with Ken.  Lisa was so sad and happy – “I would do anything to turn the clock back 25 years and do it all again”, she said.  The viewers didn’t get to see much of the actual ceremony or the reception that followed.  There were highlights from the evening that were shown, including their first kiss, the toast that Ken was worried about (he did great!), and LaToya Jackson getting down on the dance floor by Paul and Adrienne (who apparently went non-stop for over 2 hours!).   Overall, it looked like a beautiful day for a very wonderful couple.  Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Sabo!

Other than the wedding (which took up the large portion of the episode), we saw Paul and Adrienne sitting together in a doctor’s office or surgery center waiting room.  Apparently, Paul was having a colonoscopy and was nervous.  Adrienne was there to support him, but drew the line at being in the bathroom with Paul during his pre-procedure enema (can we blame her – ewww?)  Why we got to see the actual colonoscopy while it was being done (censored of course), I’m not sure.  Good to know that Paul has no polyps and is perfectly healthy in that department.  Although Paul coming out of sedation and passing “air” was hilarious!  Adrienne just rolled with it – laughing the whole time.  It was a PSA for a colonoscopy, that’s for sure!

Lastly, we see the ladies gather at Kyle’s house for a dinner party three weeks after Pandora’s wedding.  During the “interview” segments that are woven in to the actual filmed footage, Kyle Richards tells the viewer that they haven’t seen much of Taylor since Russell’s death, and she wanted to get everyone together to see how they were doing.  Its made to feel like Russell passed during those three weeks between the wedding and this dinner party, when in reality Pandora’s wedding was August 27th and Russell Armstrong died prior to the wedding, on August 16th.  Camille is the first to arrive, then Adrienne, Lisa, and lastly Taylor and Kennedy.  Kyle let’s them know that Kim isn’t coming (it seems like she and Kyle were still struggling with their relationship).  The ladies sit in the living room of Kyle’s house (the kids were in a different room playing) and do what girlfriends who haven’t seen each other in a while do – catch up over cocktails!  Lisa passed around some spectacular wedding photos.  Adrienne has a gift for everyone – shoes from her collection.  Camille talks a little about Dimitri, her Greek boyfriend, and shows a picture of his torso (Oh My Abs!).  Taylor says she and Kennedy are doing good and getting better every day.  Kyle thanks them all for their friendship, and tells them that they are her family and she is very thankful they are in her life.  All of the ladies agree that it has been a surprising journey that they have been on this season, and it has just made them stronger women overall.

Here are the “updates” that were given at the end of the episode:
Taylor – facing financial and legal issues, is publishing her memoirs.
Camille – she and her beau are still hot and heavy.
Lisa – she and Ken “downsized” to a 10,000 square foot home, and then added 2,000 square feet to it!
Adrienne – is celebrating her shoe lines success and having a new neighbor across the street.
Kim – is not pregnant and checked herself into a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center in December.
Kyle – wrote a book called “Life Is Not a Reality Show” and includes a chapter on Sisterly Love.
